Speaking of Vegemite :D ... was in Safeway and glanced up and spotted VEGEMITE on sale ... they're clearing shelves of products in prep fopr major renos so many items on sale ... I bought 2 jars of the stuff :D

Regards update ... saw doc again ... he's treating me with much more respect, or appears to be, and I give credit to him having read the labs and xray reports and noting that I ain't just a hypochondriac or someone trying to avoid work/income. Or maybe he's just in a good mood because he's heading to Hawaii for holidays beginning of March? LOL Rheumatologist comes to town in April and doc says he's referring me asap and figures rheumy will want to see me right away too. Meanwhile, Meloxicam and Pariet help somewhat so's I can function a bit better ... when I don't take em I flare and can't walk on my feet and all my joints (ligaments/muscles) go nuts, as do the disks in the neck. So ... I take my little toxic meds and hope to get on a longterm plan/meds soon.

I have an appointment with the assistance folks on the 27th so I'm one step closer to being established. Haven't found an apartment yet though, but can stay here til end of April if I must. Places are scarce at what i can afford  so looking into placing a "Accommodation Wanted"? ad in the local weekly. That might bring some results ;)

Life is full of ... stuff. Isn't it? :D

Hi Kanadian,

I hope you enjoyed your vegemite!! ;) Im relieved to hear the doctor is now treating you with some respect and getting things sorted, I hope it lasts, its good to have a good G.P. Hi TTE,

Yep ... enjoyed the Vegemite ;)

Re the doc ... I don't think he's a keeper. I joke, but am disturbed still by that exam ... the event keeps popping into my head and I just feel totally disturbed by it. I reexperience how I felt during that as well as the general atytitudes of his and even a sort of flippant/dismissiveness about important things. What a drag.

Assistance appointment tomorrow and am tied in the same old knots I get in when having to go through this process for the first times with these people and systems ... I think the age I'm going through this is a big issue for me too. I really don't know how this ones gonna go.

I'll know by lunchtime though.

Will let you all know what transpires.

Hey Kanadiana, glad to hear things are moving forward.

Thanks Healthbound ... they're moving anyways even if I'm not thrilled with some of the movements .. :D

By lunchtime I'll either be feeling pretty relieved and okay ... or will feel bummed out by the coming struggle. Don't know which way it will swing yet ;)

Praise the lord, eh? EXCELLENT OUTCOME. The system reinstated me immediately at full disability level and a full cheque ready this afternoon for March ... prescription coverage immediately and limited medical coverage until about May 2nd, then full BC coverage (am still on Ontario for the basic medical for 3 months) Other good news is that the cash I have left in the bank was totally/fully exempted and I'm allowed to keep that extra ... which is great as I still need to pay movers and buy household stuff to set up housekeeping again.

Now I can rent at what I can afford on disability! I now have a chance of finding an affordable place ;)

Worker mentioned another clinic in town that's supposed to be quite good (no, I did NOT mention the weird exam and stuff ... just mentioned this doc was not good for me. I could tell the worker agreed by a "look" in his eye when I mentioned the docs name. )

So .. after all that anxiety ... instantly re-established and relieved of anxiety on these scores.

Am good to go ;)

I thought you'd all like to hear the positive outcome. I can move forward now. Hot dang!

Hey - that's EXCELLENT, Kanadiana!

Yahoo! :funky:

On another note, I can't help but observe that it sounds like you are getting the impression that the "doctor" has given a few "weird" exams before? Any chance of making an anonymous report to the police about him, just in case someone else decides to pursue reporting/charging (if appropriate) him? I've charged and convicted a chiropractor before, so I realize that my bringing this up isn't a minor thing and I know you have lots going on right now. That's why I wondered if anyone knew if one could make an anonymous report that could still be "valid" support for anyone else who might want to pursue further action??

I hope my inquiry isn't coming across as "pushy". And of course, I am making some assumptions about what you might have meant by using the word "weird" to describe the exam (for all I know you might have just meant that he was singing or dancing while he was doing the examination). I do feel a bit uncomfortable bringing this up because I don't know if I AM reading too much into the "weird" exams and your experience of people's reactions.

Regardless, I'm very happy to hear that things are falling into place, Kanadiana. You deserve it.

Thanks folks ... it's great to have people wishing you well and cheering you on ;) It really IS excellent news ... and when I went to pick up my cheque there were 2 cheques ... one for about $37 or so bucks ... I went HUH??? What's this one all about? The worker said, Oh, it's bonus ... we covered you for the last two days of Feb as well. Enjoy :) I'm just so dammed grateful that all is turning out way simpler and easier than expected and feared ... because boy, do I need the breaks and some positives happening. I'm long overdue and need them for a change. It's a very good new start so far with finally getting the ways and means to leave then a nice little affordable motel to land in ... and Shaw cable who was willing to hook me up on net while here. It feels quite wonderful to feel this big progress/hump behind me now. I'm grateful to my ex-partner for following through with helping me after all. It's good.

Thanks again folks ... from the heart.

Now .. on to Healthbounds message ...

Hi Healthbound,

I'm not comfortable at this point about doing anything regards this doc at this point in time ... except checking with the College of Physicians and Surgeons to find out if any complaints or "off" things have ever come up about him to them before. I only have my own experience of this doc, and a couple of peoples reactions when I tell them the name of the doc, but no details. They know something, but it could be just that the doc has a rep of being an idiot or contrary, or just "a lousy doc to avoid" ... I just don't know enough to know anything at this point and certainly won't do any "reports" without knowing 100% that they are justified, because to start saying things about someone could really hurt their lives/careers ... so it darned well better be "solid and justifiable" and able to be backed up ...

You know that old saying "Know thine enemy" ??? Well ... I've had 2 very brief visits with this doc and just don't know enough about him to really judge the seriousness of what happened, or what, if anything, I should do. I won't go off half-cocked when it can have serious repurcussions on anothers life and career. That has to be justified and backed up.

What I WILL do is contact the College of Physicians and Surgeons to find out if any negatives have come up with them about this guy ... and I'll pay attention and be alert should I see or hear anything that supports similar experiences like I had. I figure thats the most I should do at this point.

Don't worry Healthbound ... if I ever "need to say anything" and know that, I will. I do feel a social responsibility about this stuff ...

I hope that eases your mind about thinking I may let this slide if he could be messing with people.

PS: This doc of mine got his medical degree in Saskatchewan 1965!!! He must be two shakes from retirement by now? ;)

I didn't find the right site I think ... I know one site (don't know which) tells you if any complaints or anything have ever been filed about docs ... wish I could remember the link ... darn

I feel better now that I said something and you clarifyied :). I assumed the "worst" when I read "weird". You're obviously a strong and intelligent woman and know what's crossing the line and what's not :)
