I was browsing the net looking for a nanny for my 2 kids but my attention was caught by a article that made me hesitant to hire one. Do you think this is necessary? Or is there a nanny agency where I can hire a pre-screened (with background check) nanny?
My understanding is that agencies that provide care services for children will have staff that have had background checks. Schools, nursery schools, daycares & hospitals including programs of study such as ECE, Child & Youth Worker etc all require background checks, immunizations and training in First Aid and CPR.
Nanny agencies would also have these requirements I believe. Call a few of them and talk to them personally. I would use the agency that requires First Aid, CPR, immunizations (Hepatitis B, german mealses, polio etc) and background checks.
