I am a psychology student from Romania. I am now in my fourth year. At the end of my fifth year I will sustain my license diploma paper. Concerning this matter I am working on a project for juvenile delinquents. To be more specific, I'm working on a institutionalization program for juveniles. Now this is a little bit tricky because in Romania we have no institutions of this kind. We had afew but they were not in conformity with the UE standards and they were closed. For that reason my project has to be very well put toghether, in order to convince the local authorities to authorize it... We have three distinct categories of juveniles:1) up to 14 years old;
2) from 14 to 16 years old;
3) from 16 to 18 years old.
The first category is absolved of any responsibilities because their parents take it upon them, in conformity with our penal code. The second category has to be evaluated by a specialist in order to state their discernment. Very few of those go to prison but many of them will backslide. Now, the third category go directly to prison and they get a sentence accordingly to their crime. This category is the target of my project. I need all the help I can get, all the suggestions, examples of models from your countries, bibliography, anything to get the attention of the local authorities. Thank you for taking your time to read this and hope you'll be able to help me.
