Thanks to Jazzey for replying to my thread yesterday about Fear of the workplace....some great ideas. I was wondering if anyone else had resources, book suggestions, thoughts or ideas for apathy and motivation when it comes to your employment. This has been a theme for me since I started my professional career over 10 years ago and I still don't know what to do about it. It's not the actual job - I've tried many with the same outcomes and I like my current job.........

Of course, a therapist could help rule out or treat underlying depression, as mentioned here:

Cures for Apathy

And lifestyle factors like lack of a fulfilling social life would need to be explored.

(For me, apathy is sometimes not from an overwhelming lack of desire or motivation but a conflict between different desires, including a problematic desire for experiential avoidance. And I find exercise helps with everything, including my depression-related apathy.)

Very much agree with your advice, Daniel.
Exercise in particular can make such a huge difference by producing a sense of well-being and energy.
