Ok. It seems I have traded my "venting" in for "questions". Me and my dumb questions lol
When therapists list the types of issues they will deal with do they generally just stick with those issues? I was just looking at a therapist that works with 2 out of 4 things I would need help with. The first two being the lessor of the 4.

Does anyone or has anyone experienced a situation like this.
I notice a lot don't take certain issues like ED (eating not erectile lol) or PD.

No, not usually. It's more likely to be a sample of the kinds of issues they deal with.

Why not call, tell the therapist what you want, and ask if s/he works with clients with those issues?

I assume by PD you mean personality disorder.

At the risk of overgeneralizing, I think it may depend on the degree rather than the type. For example, if I had severe OCD, I would want an expert on OCD. For mild OCD, my relationship to the therapist may matter more.

Dr.Baxter; Now that I know it's more of a sample (not definitely though) I will feel less cautious about asking, i think one person turning me away would hurt my feelings, even though I know it's not personal. If/when I call then I will do that.

You assume correctly. ;) You knowww when you assume you make an "ass" out of "u" and "me"... lol I'm sure you have heard that more than once lol I just had the opportunity so I went with it. :fool:

That makes sense too, but what if you had severe OCD, severe Anxiety, severe "WKR", severe "LLCOOJ" and mild depression. I wouldn't want 4 different therapists. Know what I mean.
