update on this apt is in "stopping antidepressants" thread.
I figured since it was about meds that, that is where the update belonged. :)

If you don't smoke, and have no history of blood clots, you might be able to take a hormone replacement to help relieve the symptoms if you're menopausal, nsa. Your doctor could help with this. :)

My heart goes out to you NSA, I asked about Hormone replacement but my Doctor wouldnt give it too me as I get bad migraines and have recently had high blood pressure ( caused by aniexty or maybe menopause who knows??) I saw a neurologist this last Friday re the headaches which have been bad and causing wierd symptoms down my left side, they are sending me for a brain scan just to be on the safe side, but have to wait 2 months for that (HNS waiting times!!!)) but she said that it was migraine cause proberly by stress and hormonal things, she wants me to try amitriptyline as they are used for migriane treatments but they are also an anti depressant, i dont want to take them, took years getting free of tablets, and they have side effects, and when you come off them you cant sleep,,some of the other treatments I has already tryed and didnt work, the only others left where anti seizure drugs which are on trial for migraines here but they have serious side effects in some people, sorry Im rambling but i feel your frustration and wish there was something to be taken that would ease it all,, it would be a good idea to go to your Doctor and ask about Hormorne treatement maybe he will put you on them, my dr is being cautious because of migraines and recent high blood pressure,, your in my thoughts best wishes from TTE

oh nsa i feel for you. i hope there is something your gp can do. go see him because it sounds like you are having a hard time with it.

I agree with what everyone else is saying and that by going to your gp it probably can't hurt. At least by going you can keep him/her in the loop as to what is going on with you and maybe there is something that they can do to help with the symptoms that you are experiencing.....you just never know what is out there these day???

Good luck and I hope that you make that appt. Let us know how you are doing okay.

Take Care

Thanks ppl..
i have read alo t of info on perimenopause. and from what i've read.. on diff sites.. there's isn't any point in going to gp. at least until full menopause has been reached.. :(..

all I have been doing for the past cpl of days is sleeping my brains away... so tired it's not funny.. 1st day or two i thought late nights had caught up with me.. now i'm beginning to convince meself this is just another part of this flipping change!! can't sit down for long or i'm asleep.. sometimes really really sound asleep. other times i'm dreaming really weird dreams and hard to "wake" out of them.

okay that's me little rant over for now.. not even sure why i'm typing this here.. now i'm going backto bed.. (11.30 am) getting cross eyed again.. :(

later ..

What is the saying....it always gets worse before it gets better??? I think thats it. Well I am sure that is what it is in your case. I think that if you can just hang on (and hold tight because you don't want to fall down with the dizziness :D) than I think that this too shall pass.

Sorry couldn't help with cracking one joke :). Seriously though, it might not really hurt to go talk to your gp even if everything that you have read says that there is nothing that he/she can do for you at least it will be documented on your chart. Maybe there is something else going on that you didn't think about. I don't know....just trying to throw some ideas around.

Please take care
