Is there not a contact number for the ODSP office you can call and ask when your disability checks will start hope it is soon

I contacted them and they said no idea if ill get a phone call or mail letting me know when im even to see a odsp worker, having to stick on welfare while waiting really is a bummer, hoping i get it before end of august at least.

Really that is terrible I think the welfare worker looked into someone i am close to application and told her it would take about 4 weeks then that was long time ago though things change i hope you hear soon.

Sadly, that's the way it is with bureaucracies. Some of those who work in government services actually care. Some just go through the motions.

But it does tend to be worse in the summer time when many people go on vacation.

Is it normal to only get 300 dollars for your first odsp payment, i got a cheque today and it says for aug 1 to 31st, i sure hope thats not my sept payment or im in trouble.

I really don't know. Best advice is to call the office and ask.

It is if you were collecting Ontario Works, because they deduct that payment from your first ODSP payment. You should also get a larger one time payment when you meet with your caseworker.
