I agree with Janet that I don't believe that your therapist can talk to K about anything that happens or is discussed during your session without your consent. If you don't give consent then your therapist can't repeat anything. Please don't hold back on being honest with your therapist because of the fear of her speaking to K.

The great thing about therapy is that you are free and clear to say anything you want knowing that there is confidentiality between you and your therapist.

Take care RIMH, you are in my thoughts

Thats okay RIMH....just wanted to reassure you that you are free to speak whatever you need to in order to help you and to not feel inhibited because of the fear of her speaking to K. Your therapy is about YOU and no one else. It sounds like you have a real caring therapist and that is so great.

Take care

Oh RIMH, your statement 'mom screamed at me all the way there of how her didn't want her day wasted' was like someone bopped me on the head with a 'smart' stick. A light went on. I cannot tell you how many times I heard that in my life but never thought about it much, till now. I have just done something, some may find strange, I wrote an eviction notice to my mother, it says "you______are hereby evicted from my head. You no longer have control over me. This notice takes effect immediately" and I signed and dated it. It is now tacked to the wall beside me. It made me feel so good writing it. Thank you for your post and helping me. I hope someday we can all 'evict' those things from our lives.

so rimh, i just had a thought, if K fell and broke her leg and needed to get to the ER, would she still be mad about "wasting her day"? maybe a point to bring up with her should the topic of you going to the ER come up again.
