I beat my husband

Sorry - I just can not resist the setup for a case in court.

Prosecuter: Did you or did you not say that you beat your husband?

Defendant: Yes, but...

Judge: Just answer the question 'yes or no'.

Defendant: Yes.

Prosecuter: Ladies and gentlemen of the jury please consider the facts carefully noting that the defendant readily admits to beating her husband.

Re: 3 Positive Things

Those are good ones ghost penguins, thanks for keeping the thread going! Actually last week I heard a research proposal that included an intervention called "3 Good Things in Life" and I think it was along the same lines as this. So that was cool!

1. Finals week next week-school almost over
2. Moving to a neighborhood I love
3. Finished a kickboxing class that was totally awesome

I welcomed the new year with lots of tears  but a number of helpful posts here so keep on trying. I have started reading the following books.

1 - Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
2 - Mind Abuse by Rose A. Dyson
3 - Understanding Your Grief by Alan D. Wolfelt

Wishing everyone a happier new year  Mari

Wishing you a happier new year too, Mari.

I had some quiet time too.

I washed our pillows (positive because I'd never tried that before and was sure I'd manage to mess it up but didn't!)
I played flute at church this evening and enjoyed it
I planned some nice things to do on my day off tomorrow

Re: 3 Positive Things

I ate lots of lamingtons (I need to counteract my recent weight loss and this seemed like a fabulous place to start!)
I'm over 20% of the way through my pile of marking (notice how I don't focus on the fact that there's 80% left!!)
I'm going shopping for a jacket in the morning. Hopefully I find one this time, it's starting to get a bit chilly.
