Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 - Doing my Income tax return early was nice. Got my little return deposited overnight. Any money coming in is good money!

2 - After watching a movie yesterday I was up all night. Got 3 more boxes unpacked. I needed to find my labels to be able to rebottle my vaping supplies and make some e-juice tests with the new flavors and figured I might as well put the stuff in the shelves rather than rummage through those boxes over and over. Then I had to enter all the data from my flavors into my recipe program so that I could make some juice. I got sidetracked a few times doing this and that that popped up but finally managed to label the bottles and make some e-juice and even managed to put all the stuff away after! Went to bed close to 8 this morning.

3 - I Needed milk and there was no way I was paying what they charge for it at the corner store here so I took miss muffet along to Walmart (the difference in price pays for the cost in gas) and then we went to pick up some Kentucky for supper. We had flipped heads or tails and I lost but she decided she was buying supper anyway. I had printed an online coupon so for 16$ we got to pig out. Poor me, she loves their chicken but finds the skin too fat so I had to eat all that yummy greasy and salty skin she had picked off her pieces. Life is so hard sometimes :D

Edit: Past the 1 year mark living here on the 26th. Still love being out of the city!

I’m guessing inspiration doesn’t get me a chunk of the return
I sure as heck wouldn’t do my taxes online. I prefer the free software with more “based on your input we recommend you upgrade to the paid version” annoying suggestions than help but it’s free and then file directly with Canada Revenu’s NetFile.

Also, don’t you need to write 3 positive things before adding a bonus or was that a bonus to my 3 positives?

There is a lot of free online software in the U.S. though they find every which way to make life harder, e.g. if you are also filing state taxes and do not want to have to manually copy everything over. I wised up this year and found a deal for $10 instead of $30 for the premium version.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

BTW, I just found out The United Way partnered with H&R Block to provide a premium version of H&R Block's online software for free for households making less than $66k. I will use it to double check my deductions, etc. This has been offered since 2009, but I just found out about it.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

  1. I am keen to get on with a new work task... If only a particular application was working today to allow me to do my job.
  2. I saw the IT update about a different application being down before trying to use it and getting frustrated with that.
  3. When all else fails, free drink of milo and milk.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

  1. Was assigned an urgent task this morning, so "task that someone cares about" motivation criteria met.
  2. It involves some real engineering calcs. Yesssssss!:D
  3. All data is available, it's easy and quickly solvable and it's within limits after the calc so I should have no trouble at all to meet the timeframe they want the response by. Sweet!:up::up::D

Of course now it will take the rest of the day to write up the documentation to support it, but what a glorious day it shall be haha. ;)

Although to balance that out, the radio just played Baby Shark so now I have that to get out of my head.

This should help :D

Or the extended version, 60 minutes of fun:

Or if you prefer:

This is from when my kids were small, the great Raffi, who actually sang and made music:

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

What a shame my phone plan doesn't give me enough data to justify listening to all of those ;)

Those poor children in the audience without Internet access

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

The radio station is obviously doing some kind of promo/competition using the song, because they've played a short clip of it another 2 times throughout the course of the day. Just enough time to forget it and be annoyed all over again. The radio is one thing I'll be getting away from when my team moves to its undisclosed location.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1. Got a cool USB-powered pet microchip scanner from Amazon for $40. I used it to verify which pets still need to be microchipped. Can also use it in case I encounter a stray.

2. Carls Jr. now makes veggie burgers.

3. Feeling more emotionally stable this year.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

  1. Finally got my task into review this arvo. That extra issue took up a whole day, but hopefully it's sorted and won't make it more than a day late.
  2. Sent an email to ask a different type of reviewer (who will get the task at the end) to do a prep review in case I need to chase something else up (to avoid wasting time for something simple that I could tackle tomorrow morning).
  3. I have done everything that I can do about the task for the moment and now it's time for my brain to allow those thoughts to pass. Found the YouTube version for the Smiling Mind meditation app that I use:

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

In spite of my physical and mental ailments there are some positives...

1 - One important thing that's been causing me a lot of anxiety and stress for a few months now came in around 2:30am.

2 - The drive to Winnipeg to see doc today went well in spite of the gusty winds and blowing snow. Stopped at Giant Tiger on the way out and didn't need anything really but they had this deal I just couldn't pass on and snagged 12 x 500 gr packs of their store brand (Best Value) sliced bologna. Regular $3.99 each on sale "Buy 4 for 4$" There's no way I could pass on that except I wasn't sure how much room I had in the freezer. They actually taste really good for store brand.

3 - When I stored my Summer wheels in the common storage room I had to remove the boxes at the bottom (right side in the picture) and still hadn't figured out where to store them. Miss Muffet said I could reorganize her stuff and put it there but after going back around 1:00am I managed to reorganize my spot and got everything that was there before except a small box with just 2 extension cords left in it... I'm pretty sure there was more than 2 in there so actually it's a good thing that box is out of there an in my apartment now.

Pics Before putting Wheels: (Sorry just imagine them rotated 90 degrees)

After Wheels and reorganization today: ( A little packed and barely overstepping boundaries)
