Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

I'm only 15hrs 44mins from Seattle via Air Canada with a layover in Vancouver... But I think I'd probably just cut the trip short and stay there instead :)
Actually flight prices from here are quite reasonable at the moment too.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

  1. Waffle Friday.
  2. Sent some emails I didn't really want to send.
  3. Techno tunes on the shop floor this morning.

Bonus: made a joke pic / meme about a missing part that was ordered but hasn't turned up, and it was quite well received. :)

YES! I love it when a joke is well received!!

My jokes aren’t always gems, that’s for sure. Sometimes I laugh at my own jokes. It makes me laugh harder, still, if people look at me strangely for making the joke.

My husband still feels the need to bring up my worst joke ever from over 10 years ago. I guess it’s a good thing I haven’t made any jokes worse than the one he resurrects...

 It must be hilariously bad if he keeps bringing it up 10 years later.

My 3 positives for today:
  1. Finally went to get groceries.
  2. Poptarts were on special.
  3. Went for a 5km tentative bike ride and my knee feels ok! :eek:mg: :D It's been 11 months so I'm still going to take it easy but good grief it's good to be able to ride again and still be able to walk afterwards. Ate poptarts and cookies to celebrate.
Bonus: Made it home from my ride about 10 minutes before it started raining heavily.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Strawberry Pop-Tarts are one of the most popular items Floridians, etc. buy for post-Hurricane dining:
I don't know if I've tried the strawberry ones. Back as a kid I know I had strawberry ones that were in 3 'fingers' but they might have been strawberry and yoghurt or I'm making this whole thing up.
The only ones we get here now (without going to a specialty USA store and paying 3 times the price) are 'Chocotastic'. A couple of years ago we had apple ones too but they were pretty gross.

When I was visiting Dallas in 2015 I got a box of peanut butter poptarts from a random little grocery store. They were great but apparently were discontinued and my bf had never heard of them (and missed out cause that was on my way back to Aus).

I don't even have a toaster at the moment so I'm eating them hurricane-style. :)

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

  1. Did something at work that I'd been having trouble coordinating a time to do.
  2. Already had leftovers for dinner.
  3. Psyching myself up to go see a movie on my own tonight.

I have trouble disconnecting my hip from David’s to do that sort of thing. Although, lately I’ve gone some places without my David. I feel like I should’ve rolled down a window or something...

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

  1. USA Navy has some vehicles and personnel here in Aus at the moment for a joint exercise. I just saw an Osprey! :D Very cool :D Couldn't get a photo cause it was flying past the line of buildings, but seeing one flying was awesome :)
  2. Last night I had all the lights off while sitting at the computer and thought I saw the outline of a Fred-sized gecko on my wall. It had moved out of sight before I turned on the light. Later confirmed its presence behind the fridge.:facepalm:
  3. Making pizza tonight.

where there's a will there's a way...

BUT... where there's a hole there's a way back home

Have to be honest... I was rooting for Fred vs gooblax... Hope it's actually him and not a cousin...
And to think I might have missed this one ;)

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1. Recently went to a fancy/historic restaurant for our wedding anniversary thanks to a gift certificate from my parents.

2. The cheapest thing on the menu -- the $3 house wedge salad -- was one of the best salads I ever had (and the best part of the meal). The blue cheese vinaigrette dressing was perfect -- not too acidic. Will be going back to try their other salads.

3. BOGO pet food. (buy one, get one free)

BONUS: Enjoyed the Native American designs on the side of the highways in Phoenix today. (was dropping off my husband at the airport to visit family)

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1.) I now know how bored I can get and realize it has to stop. I have “threatened” to go to the park with or without David. Maybe even without the dog. Tomorrow: the park or death. Probably death because I twisted my ankle.

2.) I twisted my ankle and lost a few layers of skin on my knee and ankle. This means I don’t have to do anything this evening, except ice the ankle. Thank goodness it’s the one I always twist. I would’ve been disappointed if my good ankle was hurt.

3.) I now realize I’m just meant to be bored. It’s good to finally know the reason I was born. To be bored and sarcastic.

What would prevent you from being bored?

I’ve been bugging my David for a few weeks to come to Wascana Park... Maybe see geese, maybe check out the lovely flowers by the Legislative building, maybe go for a nice long walk.

I’d settle for anything other than our yard, our house, same old same old... I wAnt The spraypad... A body of water...

1. Had double rainbows the other day.

2. Finally rained (after not having rained for months here in Arizona).

3. Successfully avoiding Amazon Prime Days (Black Friday in July).

Sounds like stage 3 cabin fever :eek:mg:

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

It’s only been a few years since I’ve visited a place I really like to go that is only green for a few months of the year and I have to wait another effing year to visit it.

We haven’t been on vacation for ages either, because of David’s health. And we could visit my brother and sister-in-law in Alberta. But he doesn’t want to go. He doesn’t want to do anything. So again, I might just go by myself once my stupid ankle gets better. He wants to stay home he can look after Douglas and then I don’t have to worry about that.

I’m sick of being dragged down and not doing stuff I want but he gets to do what he wants all the time which is squat.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Hope your ankle heals up soon so you can get to the park @H011yHawkJ311yBean.

My 3 positives:
  1. Pretty easy day at work.
  2. It's not as cold as yesterday.
  3. Messaged my brother to ask if he wanted to have a call this week. (My therapist suggested talking to him about something I've been feeling guilty about, but since I moved interstate we only message each other once every couple of months to send a joke. So I told my therapist it would be weird to set up a specific call for this but said I'd think about doing it. Been thinking, now phase 1 of attempting.)
