Re: 3 Positive Things

Harder for me today, but here goes:

1. When ladylore spoke of how she was complimented so beautifully by her therapist, I felt the sun shine on me too!

2. My auntie, who took up took up motorbike riding at 61 passed away yesterday. She?s found a bigger highway. She?d love it. She will catch up with the love of her life, and once again put people on notice who dare to take advantage of my mother!

3. I can go to sleep now.

Amastie - I am glad the sun shined on you too. :) I am sorry to hear about your grandmother passing away, and I think the motorbike riding is soooo cool! :D

Re: 3 Positive Things

Thank you ladylore :)

It was actually an auntie of mine who passed away and who took up motorbike riding at 61. She a very strong person and always stood up for those in need.

The day is not ended, but here's three more before I go to bed:

1. Had a really good breakthrough with my counsellor today.

2. Chose *not* to buy an ice-cream sundae at McDonalds.

3. I am very obese and use a walker to get around on account of arthritis (one of those you can sit on), so what happened today looked quite funny. After of a taxi ride, the driver got out of the taxi to get my walker, but he forgot to put the brake on. The taxi started to roll downhill! I put my hands on the back of the taxi and pushed hard, making it go forward again as he rushed around to put the brake on. It wasn’t at all funny to him, but I felt good to know that I still had such strength in me.

Let's see.
1. I had a good open hearted talk with a great friend of mine, and feel much better and loved for it.
2. I'm feeling better after being sick, with diarrhea, vomiting and extremely intense esophageal spasms for 3 days
3. got to go for a new ride with hubby in our new (to us) car, what fun!!
Today was a good day.

Re: 3 Positive Things

Because I need to:

1. I believe I'm here to learn. That strengthens me.
2. I believe that no-one, no matter how they might hurt us, acts our of any motive but to protect or support themselves at some level. That, too, supports me.
3. I believe I in spirits whose purpose it is to help support me through life and stand beside me when I'm struggling. Sometimes, i can call on the wisest of those to give me insight. I cannot do it out of fear or anger, but only when I look up (spiritually) to Love and to Light.
(I'm finding it hard to do that at the moment, but I do believe it. Always have, and it is a source of great strength.)
4. Want to add one more. At those times when I wouldn't mind giving up on the the world, I remember my belief that no-one leaves before their time. So I can hit myself on the head as many times as I like, but I'm not going anywhere till something larger than me says 'OK, it's time'. When that time comes, a coconut mightl fall on my head, leaving me completely unable to claim martyrdom :)
[I don't others to believe what I believe, but - like others with different beliefs - I find strength in them.]

Not a full day has passed but sleep has and I wanted to affirm three things that pick me up tonight. I am frequently immobilized by my feeling so to achieve small things means a lot to me.

1. I was able to put out the rubbish. I feel good for that.

2. (After this post) my computer is going off! - in order to achieve something *physical*

3. Have started to tidy my room. That's important to me.

Goodnight,

Re: 3 Positive Things

I need a bit of a pick-me-up tonight.

1. I got some tricky entries right at rehearsal tonight that nobody else seemed to get. I thought I must have been wrong (and I think the other sopranos thought I was too!) and I was all embarrassed, but then the repetiteur played the notes on the piano and I was right and the others were wrong (hehehe!).

2. It didn't rain. Not that that's unusual for the second-driest australian state capital (random useless fact for you!!). But I had to walk between rehearsals and I was glad I was dry.

3. I got reimbursed some money and now I can pay the power bill.

Before my three, just want to mention that I'm in Melbourne. Don't know which state you are in Meg but as you will know Melbourne, being south, isn't as dry as other states. I'm glad you stayed dry, *and* was re-imbursed :)

Now my three

1. I got some much needed housework done
2. I slept well
3. From here in Australia, am finding the US presidential race very interesting - potentially history-making.

For now,

Re: 3 Positive Things

Well let's see, today didn't start out too horribly so that's good.
1. was able to have a smile on my face first thing this morning, joking with hubby while we got ready for the day.
2. sitting down with two great gal friends studying, in the comfy student lounge, I'm very content at the moment.
3. my dad and a good friend of my hubbys and mine is coming to town today, so lot's of great people to see!! YAY

I wish it was dry, it's been foggy here for two days and really miserable, although warmer than usual this time of year which is NICE! 8C this morning on the way to school woot woot! PLUS daylight savings time, I love it in the fall!!
oh and I'm FEELING BETTER yay...I was really really sick for most of last week.
well that's more than 3 things but I"m thinking positively today!

Re: 3 Positive Things

1. I played piano in front of my aunt without feeling too nervous. Woot! (Now to work out how to do that in front of examiners... hmmm.)
2. I've been doing some study (statistics).
3. I'm actually trying to do something to get myself out of a bad mood - and hey, it's working. :)

They're all great gooblax! Especially trying to do something to get rid of your bad mood :)

I must follow your suit to get rid of my down mood.

My three for today:
1. I came here, to this thread (to make myself look up)
(it classifies as a positive to me at present)

2. Started doing voluntary work about a month ago and *love* it - best . ever of all the voluntary work I've done since retiring many years ago. Tutoring elderly people in basic computing. The 'students' and I get along really well.

3. Even thoiugh I've been not able to be emotionally present for others recently, it heartens me to know that I *want* to be. (It's different from not wanting to be.) It helps me to know that there still is real caring inside me. :)

For now,

Re: 3 Positive Things

My day is still young, but I went to an auction with hubby this morning, that was nice, since I was originally supposed to work but my client was out of town....his mom forgot to tell me lol!
my back pain is now manageable today, been immobile for two days.
The sun is peeking out from the clouds and the snow has stopped YES!

Re: 3 Positive Things

Thanks guys, and good job on all the positives everyone.

My 3 for today:
1) It's a possibility that I'll do better on my next exam than I did on today's one.
2) I have songs on my ipod that can help stop me from dwelling on things that need not be dwelt upon.
3) I'm *trying* to find positives about today.

Re: 3 Positive Things

Gooblax, your replies *so* help me to get ideas!

1. "I'm trying to find positives today" (is that copyrighted Gooblax? :) )
2. God thank for Xanax! ('nuff said.)
3. Session with psychiatrist today was, as always, very good because she understands me *so* well. It is true that I have supports :)
Goodnight all,
Have a great day,
amastie
