Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

BONUS: The animal hospital I found on Facebook only charged $38 to extract 3 teeth from my 10-year-old dog (on top of the charges for the regular dental cleaning). The vets there only charge by the minute, and the extractions only took 10 minutes.

Yes, she is a dachshund (one of three weiner dogs we have). The teeth were two canines and a relatively tiny tooth in the back.

Aaaw! Poor wee wiener hound! [emoji174] I bet she’ll feel a lot better soon. Your doggo’s vet/clinic sounds awesome!

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

On the positive side, dogs love soft/canned food more than humans do.

She has 2 weeks of canned food to enjoy.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

  1. Finally made the curry that I'd been planning to make for 2 weeks. I mean, it's just past 9pm so there'll be minimal eating of said curry, but it's FINALLY made. No idea what took so long tonight but oh well.
  2. Learned the intro to a song on keyboard. This is the first new song that I've started learning in years.
  3. Ok I lied in number 1. Eating some rice with curry sauce as a way to "clean up" my pan. :D

A reason to go on a cruise: They have Indian food every day in the buffet.

A reason not to go on a cruise: So many people get upper-respiratory infections after a week or so.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 - Starting to feel a little bit better off the Mirtazapine.

2 - Finally seem to have my computers and network all updated to Windows 10 1809. Except for the old Core2Quad PC in the closet (I should try it after everything else is done but it's windows 10 Home so it'll probably try and install 1903 and crash LOL, and the old laptop that refuses to power on and I refuse to bother seeing if it's the power supply or not. I bought that thing refurbished in 2006. Has a 17" screen but not a 64 bit processor

3 - Decided to pull the plug on the Satellite service until Hockey season starts again. It only took me 10 days after Montreal was eliminated to finally get to it. Will save $54.24 a month (it all adds up! Especially when it's not being used at all) Starting tomorrow till October 4th so that it's back and working in time.

1. With company coming tomorrow, finally throwing away clutter instead of moving it around.

2. Found a baby photo of my 5-year-old dachshund:

3. The Fitbit helps my self esteem :D Lets me know I am getting more exercise than I would have thought walking the dogs, etc.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

^ Very cute :)
My fitbit has been annoying me lately, cause every week it tells me I've gained 4kg. It counts piano and some guitar as steps though, so maybe I am doing even worse than that :lol:

How can it possibly know that? I don't have one but doesn't it just monitor how much you're moving? What of you're sick so not moving but also not eating much?

The app allows entry of food/calories but I don't enter anything. I entered an original weight. So exactly, its complete fiction.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

And Vegemite is a low-calorie food anyway :)
If you want a good transition food to start liking vegemite, these biscuits/"crackers" are awesome. They got the flavour balance totally right. Not as low-calorie as the pure stuff though.

"If"? What on earth gave you the idea that there's an "if"?

I think I mentioned in the past that I actually did try Vegemite once in England. I'm pretty sure it's the same stuff we use to grease moving parts in heavy machinery in North America. Given the problems with climate change and declining or unstable petroleum supplies, you Australians may be sitting on a gold mine.

Ok... "When" :D

Health and Safety regulations may ban the use of vegemite for lubrication of any machinary that's not recommended to be tasted before use.

Where the "DISLIKE" option when you need it?

Totally agree with David on the Vegemite/Marmite, or any other form or derivative, of it subject!:panic:

I can visualize an Aussie mechanic licking the grease gun to see if it tastes like the real thing :D
