Thanks, pretty cool site huh?
i was surprised at everything it checked when I stumbled on it a day or two ago. That’s how I found out Edge was leaking my local IPs. The other sites did not show this exploitable “feature”

Yes I love sites like that... I have a collection of various web utilities and diagnostics in my Google Bookmarks.

Except nobody ever finds the missing link (hope that one doesn’t fly over anyone’s head)

BONUS: Del Taco (similar to Taco Bell) now sells the "Beyond Taco" -- vegetarian tacos made with Beyond Meat (fake beef) and, optionally, avocado.

Thanks for all the awesome computer information. I’m not at work or I would’ve asked the smart people there. I somehow managed to work there for over 10 years with a teaching degree. Everyone else has technical degrees or certification.

I still have to take Grade 12 math.

Maybe I’ll just take my computer to the barbecue and light it up...

Edited a typo.

I hope we didn't upset you, @H011yHawkJ311yBean.

We've become sloppy about taking threads off-topic lately and we do tend to ramble on when a geek opportunity presents itself, but no harm was intended.

Oh! Hey!

No, it’s all good!

I’ve been thinking about burning other stuff, too!

Just all the stuff about being safe on the interwebs suddenly made me feel like just moving to an island somewhere, off grid. lol

  1. Got half an hour of work done at home, before running into a program that wouldn't let me log in (WHY?!) and bed time.
  2. Got to bed slightly earlier than normal.
  3. Waking at 1am, whilst less positive, gives an opportunity to practise meditation. Once the road works guys stop scraping gravel or whatever they're loudly doing. This road had better be fantastic when they're finally done.

Don’t they have curfews in Aussieland regarding construction noise in or close to residential areas?
that must drive some people literally bonkers

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 - Did my dishes last night. Heck of a lot of work when they’ve been sitting in the sink for 2 weeks. Being OCD when it comes to cleanliness (especially what I cook or eat with) it was soak, prewash, rinse, chuck washcloth, grab new one and start all over. That’s the price to pay for depression and procrastination. But all done plus I actually multitasked and cooked then ate some fish stick during and between. Even washed everything after.

2 - went to sleep around 2am something woke me up at 4am. Can’t wait till I start running the air conditioner night and day. Makes a background noise that muffles out the occasional break in silence here. Couldn’t sleep so got up and since the counter was finally cleared and clean I popped 18 eggs in the Instant pot and made a jar of pickled eggs. Managed to get a couple hours sleep around 9. Oh and even washed everything after. Just need to clean the instant pot pot since it was Only rinsed after use but since no eggs cracked while cooking that’s just a quick wash out of precaution more than anything.

3 - Laundry day. Check! Over and done with.

Bonus: Finally got the new TV box out of my bedroom and off to the bin. Kept it for a month in case I needed to return it to Amazon. Been over a month. Another thing out of here. Maybe tonight continue with the PC rebuilding.

There's curfew limits for private works, but for council works I think they're only required to inform residents that it will be happening. They do it at night cause it's a major road that they'd be disrupting plus more dangerous for workers during the day. So we just kind of have to put up with it on whatever nights they've scheduled it til they're done. They're doing a major upgrade to the whole section of road for a couple of km's so it's taking awhile.

1 - Only got 2 hours sleep again overnight. Woke up around 4 made a cofffe and Sloooooowwwwwly woke up. Since they are coming to do the anual fire alarm and heat and smoke detcetor tests this morning I figured I might as well not bother tossing and turning and got back to rebuilding the PCs.

2 - When I rebuilt my main PC as the backup server i tried getting my better graphic card to work instead of the Intel HD 4000 that's built into the CPU (more powerdul and can do 4K UHD @ 60HZ though the display port and I already had a display port to HDMI adaptor) but for some reason no matter what I tried I could not get it to detect the card. Bummer. Gave up at that point. Anyway since I was attacking getting that thing all back together I tried it and still no go. Tried a PCIE 3.0x16 running @ x8 slot and it worked. So i rechecked everything with the main x16 slot and I guess one of the other back panel slugs/screws was preveting it from seating properly. Took it out installed the card and heard that distinctive "CLICK" as it seated and locked. Yes! Working at x16. Installed the BluRay drive into that case and cleaned everything up. All closed up. Just one left to fully rebuild and close up the server after the tests but as I was clearing out the parts from the HTPC case I got everything ready for the case it is going into. With the guys coming to test the alarm I stopped and put all the parts and boxes in the bedroom so it didn't look tooi bad.

3 - Fire tests finally done in my suite. Going to pull the parts that I'll need to rebuild the next PC out of the bedroom and clear off my bed for a soon to come nap.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

I was up half the night too, although I then slept in until noon.

I upgraded 4 Xenforo forums, yesterday. Since this had to be done at off hours to minimize disruption to traffic, I started late afternoon or early evening (most of it is a blur now ).

Three of those went quite smoothly. The 4th and final one was a nightmare. I knew I was getting tired but overestimated my ability to concentrate (since the other three although time-consuming had gone so smoothly) and ended up trashing the custom style with an accidental mouse click that reverted the wrong template.

:panic:

Was able to get help from the creator of that basic style who helped me get the style back. God bless the man, he was trying to fix code from a mobile phone but he got the job done. I finally chowed down on some toasted cheese and tomato sandwiches and fell into bed about 3.30 or 4 am my time.

Just having coffee now.

I don't know if this is 3 positive things... or 2 or 4. This coffee sure tastes good! :coffee:

Glad you got some sleep. I still haven't. Going to pop a "cloney" and hopefully get some sleep soon. Wish I could just tough it out till 9 but this lack of sleep is getting to me. There goes another upside down day :(

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 - Slept from (can't remember when) yesterday afternoon untill my alarm woke me up to take my meds at 9PM Thought it was morning. Been awake since.
Rebuilt the old backup server PC in another case with the original AMD "turbo prop" heatsink and fan. Also put a new cooler master fan for back venting. Dang thing is noisy. The CPU (AMD FX6300 Black Edition) Fan runs from about 2000 at idle to 3100 RPM at not even full load

Have to check the Cooler Master T4 I have on my now 10 year old Core2 Quad PC which is Still running and on Windows 10 and overclocked from 2.5 to 3Ghz. Problem is those 2 Sileo Silent cases that both of them are in, don't have back cutouts behind the CPU and I think the T4 cooler has a backplate behind the motherboard. Which means buy a new one or take both motherboards out. Regardless did a clean install on it overnight. No hurry to use it or fix it anymore. Now that both are upadted to 1809 i'll just put them in the closet for now so I can continue organizing the place.

2 - Decided to go to Walmart early this morning to get milk and few things on sale. That way it's done and I can crash whenever I want now. since they are closed on Sundays and I didn't have enough milk till Monday i needed to go today.

3 - Bought a few treats. (not much) One of them being a litre of Chocolate milk which I have just finished polishing off without dirtying a glas :D
