Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Looking forword to a spreadsheet with the environmental impact of each item sorted by regular price and sale price :coffee:

Not sure how I should read into that comment? Somehow it sounds sarcastic or mocking which I really hope I’m wrong. I’d appreciate if you could clarify that please. TIA

I don't think I'm in the business of taking stabs at people.

  1. Got my flu shot and it only took about 2 minutes including waiting in line. It took longer walking over to the room than it did inside it.
  2. Got a lollypop from the vaccination lady.

I call discrimination. I didn't get a lollipop for my flu shot.

This is clearly anti-Canadian racism by Canadian pharmacies and the medical profession. :panic:

One of the vet hospitals here has lollipops. I assume it helps pacify us before we get the bill :D

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 - Laundry day - Didn't feel like doing it but forced myself and did my clothes and bedding and a comforter. It had a stain from my vaping tank leaking (coffee flavoring hence dark brown) Sprayed some shout on it and seems to be gone. That tank is now i the garbage.

2 - Also cleaned my coffee maker since it was overdue and everytime I think of doing it it's full of coffee (no pot, the coffee stays inside and dispenses as needed) Getting expensive on vinegar between the pickled eggs andcleaning the coffe pot LOL

3 - Been really tired and sleepy all day. forcing myself to stay awake till 9 take my pills and go beddy bye bye. 56 minutes to go. Last night I never made it past 7:30 or so I don't even remember taking my pills at 9 and alarm going off to take them but this morning I saw last night's pill was taken when I looked at my bubble pack.

BONUS: Getting almost all of my remaining subscriptions cancelled (Kindle Unlimited, gym that is too far away -- rather work outside making another fireline, etc.) Will keep one streaming TV service -- CBS All Access -- for $7/month for my husband's local news.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

I almost bought some imported Canadian maple syrup today actually, on special at $2.80 AUD for 100mL.
But as usual, I couldn't identify what aisle of the store it was in. Hint - not with the honey, jam or other spreads. I think it's probably in the aisle with the ice cream cones and topping stuff.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Grocery stores are frustrating. It seems like just as I get used to where things are in a store, they move everything around.

And to make it worse, there is often no rhyme or reason to where they stick things. To give a recent example, where would you expect to find bouillion powder or cubes? In one of the stores near me:

  • With the canned gravies? Nope.
  • With soups? Nope.
  • With cooking or baking supplies? Yes.

You could wander around for days in those places unless you're lucky enough to find someone who works there. Actually a couple of times, I asked someone who looked like he might work there and he didn't but was able to tell me where to find it. :D

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Glad to hear that it's not just me.
I've probably mentioned this previously but at one store I used to have to wait for paper towels to go on sale so they'd put them at the end of an aisle where I could actually find them.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1.) Went to see my neurologist. He said everything with my neck is normal. And degeneration is minor and also normal at my age. I guess. He said, “Everybody has some degeneration.” So apparently my migraines are not caused by my neck having any cracks, breaks, or herniated discs. I just wanted to be sure because, although my mother didn’t drop me on my head (to my knowledge), I dropped me on my own head a couple of times. I wasn’t very graceful in my school-age years. Actually I wasn’t exactly poised in high school either. Wait. Nope. Adult now, still not winning any gymnastics awards.

2.) Decided I didn’t like doing my painting or other fun stuff in the spare room. I feel it’s like working in a closet. So after I discussed this with my David, we agreed to move my utility table out into the kitchen. I can leave my supplies in the spare room, but come out into the kitchen in front of a sunny window, with loads of room! And it can also be our kitchen table. We’ve always eaten on the couch or in the backyard at the picnic table.

I started painting something: this is gesso texturing I played with for over an hour with a small palette knife. Not sure if you can make anything out, yet, but I plan to colour it tomorrow.

3.) Because of the table being moved into the kitchen, we had to move the microwave and a few other things. I figured it was time to fix up our microwave/coffee table. I had already placed some adhesive liner on it before, but it was pretty worn out. So here it is... This is the picture before I put the adhesive liner on it: got it from Varage/Let It Go. Turns out they used white out to cover up some of the worn spots. So then I lined it with adhesive that sort of looked like stone, but I don’t have pictures of that...

Here are the other views as I progressed:

I might do the two bottom cupboard doors. It looks weird to me that the side is done, but not much in front...

The painting is looking cool so far @H011yHawkJ311yBean :) Looking forward to seeing it with colour.
Neat job with the liner on the cabinet too. I agree that all the white in front is a little unusual now in contrast with the rest, but I'm sure you'll sort that out. :)

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 - Spent the day in bed,

2 - Don't feel any guilt about it at all :D

3 - I had started an app a couple years ago to Wake my PCs remotely. sure there's Wake on Lan and others but nothing that does what I wanted. Tried a couple months ago to finish it and couldn't get my main PC to wake up from sleep . Decided to try and fix the problem today since I did a fresh install on the main PC last week... Spent hours and hours changing settings, drivers, bios etc to no avail. Works the other way around.

So long story short I got a brain flash some time this evening and it's my dang data server VPN was blocking Magic Packets on the LAN! It lets normal traffic through but for some reason blocks the WOL packets. Whitelisted the app in the VPN and now it works. Then spent more hours on end finishing the app.

Of course since I'm no graphics designer whatsoever and it's a personal app I snatched the icons from WakeOnLan :) for the app and the notification area. Set to start on boot and shows status of the other PCs on the LAN in real time (I set it to a 5 second delay seemed reasonable enough). If sleeping I can right click and start the PC from any other PC.

a few snippets to show...

The app Icon and the 2 status ones one the notification are of the taskbar (Greyed out = not awake/Online)

The notification that it's attempting to wake my main PC

And here you see that 1 PC is awake by the colored Icon. Hovering over it says which PC is Online or not

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 - Checking the CPU and Memory usage of my little app in Windows 10 Task Manager in the main PC and all good... BUT

2 - What do I see... Computer's at idle and my CPU usage is going up to 20%
Found the guilty party... Video driver...

Capture.PNG

3 - Google to find out it's a bug in that driver, update available... downloaded and resolved now I can go to bed.

BONUS: I can actually hear the difference on my data server that also has an NVidia graphics card after updating even if it wasn't showing the same CPU usage.

1 - Although I had a rough night got up and made coffee at 9:00... then noticed my ground beef sitting there since I took it out of the freezer on Wednesday. (BTW Sell before date was July 2017 LOL still looked great no freezer burn at all and smelled good) Good thing it was a large pack took longer to thaw in fridge.

Not that I had any desire or motivation, but against the wall before it went bad, after ingesting some caffeine I started making a spaghetti meat sauce. Didn't calculate well... it was nothing but solids and the pot was full so pulled another pot out and transferred some then went and borrowed Miss Muffet's humungous canning pressure cooker and transferred everything back.

2 - I did all the dishes once done and THEN realized I hadn't cut and put the mushrooms or any bay leaves in the sauce. More cutting and washing.

Note: The secret to bay leaves is not really how many you put in but that you remember exactly how many you put in... what goes in MUST come out... dang nasty to chew on :panic:. I Then washed everthing again which is exceptional for me. I usually leave a mess and get overwhelmed.

3 - Smells good, tastes good and looks good and there's probably about 2 gallons of thick meaty sauce :)

Little teaser:

IMG_1005.JPG

P.S. @Daniel , there's about 4 pounds of lean ground beef in there :D
