Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Can make even more meals serving it over rice, couscous, or quinoa :D

Haha! Totally forbidden

i remember the first time I gave 2 containers to my bud. He said his wife used spaghetti squash i said how dare she do that to my spaghetti sauce? I told him if she did that again they’d never get any more ever. Next times were served over fake spaghetti.. you know that granola supposedly healthier stuff?

Although mixed with parboiled rice would probably be a good meal. There’s enough vegetables in it so mo need for anything else as a side dish

Best is served with real pasta and chopped Montreal smoked meat on top. It’s to die for. But can’t get the real stuff here.

2nd best is with spaghetti and baked with mozzarella cheese

The lazy method is served like chili from the pot to the bowl :D

I bought spiralized beets to use as a pasta. Even with a good sauce, had to put a bunch of mozzarella over it to make it edible.

For me, the spaghetti squash is excellent in comparison, though not as tasty as high-fiber pasta.

1.) I made Reuben Sandwiches yesterday.

2.) Game of Thrones is on tonight!!!!!!!!

3.) Gorgeous weather today!!! Played fetch with my doggo, Douglas! And it’s Mother’s Day, and a lot of people enjoy & celebrate that day with no baggage, triggers, or anxiety. For me, the baggage is more like a fanny pack. The triggers are barely there. Have a small feeling of anxiety. Overall it’s a decent day, considering!

My dog stole my husband’s cell phone today:

BONUS: My brother is getting better after weeks of being ill. (He was hospitalized during the first week before returning to work. But at least knows the source of the problem now -- his water company notified everyone the water was tainted with e-coli.)

Daniel, somehow I don’t think that’s how this works...

Great to hear your brother is doing better but I think the bonus only works after you post 3 positives things First :D

Omigosh!! I’m glad to hear he’s getting better!!! Wow, tainted with e-coli? Was there flooding or some other reason that happened? Did authorities figure it out? Poor guy!!!

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

My understanding is the city water there that people drink is partly from treated sewage water. I assume other people getting sick is why they tested the water sooner than later if they aren't testing it enough already. Needless to say, he says he will be drinking bottled water from now on.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Wow. That’s disgusting. I totally would do the same thing. *heebeejeebee shudder* I think that’s happened/happening around the Buffalo Pound Lake area around here. I can’t remember why, but I think Qu’Appelle or another area where there is sewage treatment has apparently no choice but to release treated sewage into the lake water/Buffalo Pound drinking water due to flooding? I think? Then there was also a boil water order given as well. It blows my mind that this is 2019 and that sort of thing is still happening! [emoji15][emoji3525]

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

I only have unclear-if-positives today so I'm going to list more than 3 while I decide what ones are good.
  1. Didn't call in fake sick for work.
  2. Got my therapy appointment this evening.
  3. Spoke up in team meeting (although was in angry mode and I ended with "why are we still discussing this?!" because the boss is STILL looking for EVERYONE to tell him that a thing is ok. *$@&!)
  4. Ate my lunch an hour early... So... That's gonna suck in an hour or two.
  5. Making progress reviewing a document but my next task is going to be annoying.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

I hate when that happens...
Yeah, I don't think I've ever done it this early before but it needed to be done today. :facepalm:Last resort there's a vending machine downstairs - the most food per dollar is a cookie bar which I've previously bought when I forgot my lunch and missed the lunch truck.

My lunch as a university student in Montreal was often from the chocolate bar machine. Breakfast was a danish and coffee from Union Station (?) where trains intersect with the subway.

Apparently it's called Central Station (Gare Centrale) now. Not sure if that was the name back in the day but from the photos in Google it's a LOT bigger than it was back then.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

My dad would almost always make lunch for himself, me and my brother all through from primary school to university (at least when I stopped, I'm not sure how long he did it for my brother because he didn't have class every day).
A piece of fruit, a snack (typically a museli bar or a mini pack of chips or popcorn, or nuts) and a sandwich (2 slices of bread with a spread or cheese. Dad would have 2 sandwiches). On rare occasions the sandwich could be subbed with something like leftover pizza. I cracked the ****s with it in year 12 and had tuna and crackers instead of the sandwich for a few days a week.

The result is that I make myself the exact same lunch now. I don't even like it, but it's what a school/work lunch was, is, and always will be. I've cut the snack out but have been having hot chocolate and/or milo at work instead.
