Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

1 ...inadvertently put my normal amount of sugar in my coffee by habit but stuffed some... Could have dumped the coffee but it tastes so good. Will do a good flush brush and sensodyne rub after. Next coffee no sugar for sure!

Got any straws you can suck coffee from? It’s circumvent your teeth, hopefully.

Just be careful, let the coffee cool a bit first. Otherwise you scald the back of your throat (saying this from my unfortunate experience lol). It feels a helluva a lot hotter when it hits the back of your mouth, I assume because when we drink from the front, like we’re supposed to, our body temperature in our mouths probably brings the temperature down a bit, and who knows, maybe it gets our mouths more coated with saliva, I dunno.

This will probably be a moot point by the time you read this though...

Hope you feel anheckuva lot better soon, Gary!

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Tried taking just one T3 with my antibiotics at 7am. Took the other around 10 ish.
this tooth needs out rush the nerve is really exposed now it hurts like when o went to the ER managed to sleep a few hours not even showering have to get RX filled before dentist but sobeys said 30 minutes to fill so aiming to be there before 2:30 so o can take my antibiotic on time before I’m out of commission. Might be out of it for a while since extractions and the freezing plus the anxiety suck the life out of me

I’ll try post quick update when o get home. I just hope no complications. I know it’s my fault for delaying but the pain is nearly tolerable

thanks everyone for the support, tips and encouragement. No time to proof read lol

Thanks for all the kind words :)
Home. Still frozen solid so yes no pain. Sobeys pharmacy was awesome they even needed to call ER cause dumbass dr didn’t sign the Rx and they got it ready in less than 20 minutes including the time lost calling hospital

dentist was really nice today. Took time to answer my questions regarding exactly what he was going to do and even joked around. Gave me a play by play as to what he was doing. Helps when you clearly state your neuro-psychiatric issues clearly in advance.

first time I get a dentist that manages to freeze me completely on first attempt. He was surprised at how long my roots were. He said you have roots like a caveman lol. Showed it to me after. Like over an inch long. Expensive to have to have it cut open but that tooth would have either busted or broken my jaw bone like the one next to it when ripped out the normal way. Still need to see but he said he managed to sew it up enough to reduce the risk of the clot popping out. He did it so well that after he burred away some bone to be able to crowbar it out he had it out and I thought he was still working on it.

should have gauze taken out over 30 minutes ago now to see if bleeding stopped but still a bit anxious to see. Guess I should shut up and go check.

He he didn’t mention how long before I can eat or drink anyone have a molar extraction lately remember? Should have stuffed my face earlier I’m starved. Of course no appetite for the last month get a tooth yanked and now I’m starved

Doh! Instructions are all printed on the little envelope with the spare gauze. Seems almost all closed up but was lots blood on gauze so put another in for a bit since I’m on heavy blood thinners and plavix

Cam eat soft cold food in about 4-6 hours

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Glad to hear that it went well and that the dentist was good :) Hope the pain free sticks around for awhile.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

It’s still frozen solid getting a tiny tingle in my lip and cheek. It will probably be a bit sore for a while because he had to cut the gum to separate it from the tooth on the outside then burr down the bone but I have 30 T3 so not to torride about that as long as no complications and have antibiotics for 20 days thanks to the ER doctor.

its insane how my tummy is starving (and letting me know how hungry it is) drinking orange juice no sugar nerve pain is awesome. Think tomorrow I’m having my morning coffee with an extra heaping teaspoon of sugar to compensate for the horrible sugar free o had to drink.

Almost 4 hours still frozen solid hope it thaws so I can safely put some soft food to my tummy. First I have to find something cold and soft. Never thought of that. Could scramble 6 eggs smothered in ketchup and let cool. Should be easy to eat and filing.

On on the plus side the new coils I got for my vaping machine have an easy open air intake so I can get my nicotine and with less suction that just swallowing my saliva.

Think the jaw jaw is starting up I thaw I’m back might be T3 time. Actually best take one before it starts hurting

more.

Funny combination of facts: don’t run tongue over wound. So far so good but my tongue is my biggest Tourette tic. So far so good but don’t know how long I can hold it back from constantly probing the non conforming new buccal reality

I am glad you had a good dentist the previous dentist i had well ripped my tooth out and it shattered everywhere still had bone pieces coming through gum days after surgery it was a horrible experiance never went back there again and took me along time to even step inside dentist office . i was so dizzy and weak

I am glad this dentist took extra care of you and that you had the socket sewed up and packing on it properly. Sounds like a good dentist to keep. Ya hardest part for me was not touching area with tongue The freezing still there after 4 hours wow that is good, but soon you will be able to eat and swallow safely. Eat soft foods remember ok so sutures stay put. hugs

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

I know exactly what you went through happened to me to the molar right next to the one that he pulled today. She shattered my bone and I had a sharp shard that took 6 months to resorb kept poking through my gum I almost took a scalpel to it one day but I don’t do good with pain so self inflicted cold turkey not possible lol Hence one reason for the fear of dentist. But now it’s more a financial fear they’re bloody expensive and the university just takes to long for half price and now that I’m not in Winnipeg anymore it’s too complicated.

5 hours now almost thawed. My chin Was itchy as hell but scratching it did nothing. I did get him to asses the 2 upper molars no charge since he had the X-rays overlapping the tooth said same procedure because damage below gum line so would cost me $452 to do them together. With what I paid already that’s a 65” 4K UHD tv in my mouth or should I say out of it and my wallet. Billing person wanted to book me already I said woah I’m poor or I wouldn’t only have half a mouthful of teeth lol

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

Yeah, I would normally recommend salsa with eggs, but maybe not today :)

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

I almost bought some rice pudding on the weekend. Never been able to make one as nice and creamy as the store stuff. Although I've personally only made it a handful of times. Dad used to make it a lot (not sure if he still does cause he and I would eat the most of it) and would often burn it by leaving it and going to do something else.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 5

BONUS: After getting blood work done for all six pets in the last year (for the first time ever), none of them have anything wrong, including the senior pets. Did get a diabetes scare for the senior cat when his bloodwork came in today, but it was just stress apparently and his blood sugar was normal at the vet hospital this afternoon.

For cat caregivers:

Cats in general are prone to high blood sugar, typically during times of stress, where glucose levels may reach 300-400mg. This is often a temporary increase in blood sugar, and while it warrants further observation, it may not be cause to diagnose chronic hyperglycemia or diabetes mellitus.
