BONUS: My dogs were too short (and/or hyper) to notice they could have escaped when we were gone all day Thursday. (The senior cat though figured it out and temporarily escaped. When the cat came back, he was covered with weeds stuck in his fur.)

1. Not feeling so bad about my report today, although I'm consciously avoiding the discussion about the extra testing.
2. I have therapy on Thursday and am OK with that at the moment. Have picked some topics, including the bad report reaction.
3. I use a swipe predictive text on my phone. While typing #2, my phone kept wanting to type "bad report racoon."

1. Good bike ride this morning. No dangerous vehicles.
2. Raised a request to restock tissues, then was asked what else needed restocking so I got to pick some stuff including mechanical pencils which I prefer to use (although they get the cheap brand which I always end up breaking).
3. In a few minutes I'll probably go get a drink of milo.

Seeing the word "milo" in your posts always triggers some silly slogan in my head, like "your milo may vary" or "who wants to be a milo in air?". Or it gets me singing the song from Milo and Otis1 in my head.

My brain is a stand-up comedian, or it would be if it had legs, and an endless source of entertainment for me. :D

M-OCD: A New Form of OCD
Psychology Yesterday
by Burned-out Therapist, LOL
October 12, 2020

Milo OCD (M-OCD) is a newly recognized form of OCD (overflowing cup disorder) involving chocolate or malt beverages such as Milo or Swiss Miss. This subtype was first discovered on a rogue Canadian forum that hosts cat memes and Trump-anxiety coping skills.

The patient may experience one or more of the following:

  • Intrusive thoughts about Milo, Swiss Miss, or select Starbucks beverages
  • Compulsions to drink chocolate-based beverages excessively
  • Intrusive thoughts about harming authority figures with hot or unsweetened beverages
  • Compulsions to harm others with beverage-based humor.
Dual diagnosis with C-OCD (coffee OCD) is common :coffee:

Treatment options include M-CBT, a modified version of cognitive behavior therapy that encourages drinking water as a behavior therapy. Co-occuring seasonal depression is common if the patient transitions from Milo during the summer to Swiss Miss in the winter.

As with all mental disorders, males who engage in dad jokes are considered treatment-resistant and may have an underlying antisocial personality disorder or a history of using Fortran or PHP programming languages.

:D

1. Physician assistant was very nice.

2. Looking foward to physical therapy after quitting chiropractic care.

3. Enjoying reading David Burn's latest book, Feeling Great.

1. The hardware store has a store map on their website so I won't have to uselessly wander through 20 aisles looking for a new smoke alarm to replace the one that's beyond its expiry date and has started randomly chirping with or without a battery.
2. I saw a large snake yesterday. It was probably dead since it was right by the side of the road but I certainly didn't stop to investigate.
3. I see the counsellor in a week's time so I should be able to discuss some of the latest stuff then. I don't have a plan to start calling him "my counsellor" rather than "the counsellor" though because I have to remain detached.

Yeah I wouldn't stop to investigate a large snake either. Too big a risk that it's a politician or a Jehova's Witness waiting to snag you with questions and pamphlets.

Good point, the state election is coming up and you never know what lengths they might go to to get a captive audience.

With all the snakes in Australia, they need to put mothballs down both sides of the roads and sidewalks :coffee:

The snake repellent granules I use are basically ground up moth balls, but I don't know if they are effective -- though my guess is they help. This year, we haven't seen any rattlesnakes anywhere, even where we don't use the granules. It at least increases my feelings of self-efficacy :D

1. Seat warmer prevents me from getting sciatica while driving.

2. Taco Bell drive-thru is a lot faster where I live than the big city.

3. Sparrows everywhere. Even outside the bathroom window. (I have been feeding them sunflowers, cracked corn, and other chicken feed. And they drink a lot of water now, at least because there are so many sparrows now.)

I don't actually know what crack corn is.

Once dry, the corn can be shelled, removing the kernels from the cob. The kernels should then be ground in a grain grinder on a course, large setting. If no grinder is available, the dried kernels can be cracked by placing small quantities into a plastic zip bag and using a hammer to gently fracture them into pieces.May 7, 2019

Does Walmart carry cracked corn?
