1. Didn't get hit by a car on my bike yesterday, though it was kind of close.
2. First day back in the office in almost 2 weeks.
3. After a rough start, last week's therapy session went pretty good. I'm in a bit of a thinking vortex about it now though and feeling unsure of a lot of things.

1. Relative made us cloth masks, and they look professionally made.

2. Same neighbor who gave us the yeast threw in a free platter of homemade cinnamon rolls.

3. Roomba vacuum still working well.

1. Let the handyman in to do some maintenance stuff.
2. Didn't lose it at my neighbour who complained at 7pm that the handyman didn't fix the door closer and it was still slamming. I was pretty close to losing it though. How was the handyman (or I, for that matter) supposed to know that her problem was with the speed at which it closes? The real problem was that the screw was missing (someone took it?), causing the closer arm to be disconnected, which is what the handyman fixed. Now that I know what HER problem is I have adjusted the speed, but who knows if it's to anyone's liking. That's why it's adjustable, because different people have different ideas about how fast a door should close. If I find out one of my other neighbours took the screw because the door was banging, that screw's going to be installed somewhere they'd rather it not be.
3. I'm not the only one to realise that the handyman didn't fix the tap. Which was the one bloody thing that I cared about getting fixed. But me not being the only one means that I don't have to be the only one pushing the damn issue.
Bonus: I'm so annoyed about this that there's no room to continue making myself sad thinking about the misworded thing my therapist said back in August.

1. Used some of our stimulus money to buy new tires.

2. My mother offered to babysit our dogs, cats, and chickens when my husband and I go on vacation next year.

3. Outdoor motion detectors arrive on Tuesday to help prevent our Chihuahua escaping again.

1. Started playing a computer game called Steep and it's finally something that keeps my attention for more than a few minutes at a time.
2. When I was playing it last night, it only got to 10pm before I realised it was past my bedtime.
3. Did a social thing today by joining my bf and his friends online while they recorded their podcast.

1. Wasn't quite as cold this morning as it was yesterday morning.
2. Did a short bit of exercise.
3. Today I'm going to try considering "learning to work from home without being constantly distracted and not getting any work done" as part of my job, rather than as a personal failing to beat myself up about.

1. Left my doorway pullup bar installed overnight, and a very tiny spider had made a web line (not a full on web) hanging off it.
2. Discovered the spider while doing some half-seated pullups but somehow hadn't disturbed the spider or got it on my hand.
3. Relocated spider to a different piece of exercise equipment that I never use. He can bounce on the mini trampoline that my mum bought.

BONUS #2: My neighbor's dog went missing, but she found him before I could get there to help. (She had left her gate open -- not that I have ever done that myself :D) I am going to see if she wants a motion detector, too.

1. Had an online team meeting today (audio only although one person shared video) so got to hear from a few people.
2. It may have taken me ages to join the meeting due to my audio refusing to connect, then accidentally creating an audio echo loop that I had to quickly kill... But I didn't make the funniest mistake. The person hosting the meeting answered another call during the meeting and it played on-hold music for everyone until their call ended
3. I found a USB extension cord that I can test with my webcam. My current setup puts my webcam and its tiny cable in an awkward spot, so if the extension cable works then I won't have to completely rearrange my desk for video calls vs. every other computer use.

There were TWO mini spiders on the pullup bar today! If I'd known they were here I would've invited them to attend the meeting on my behalf. I'm not sure where my emotional support gecko went but I'm sure he'd have been interested to know about the spiders. ;)

1. Only one spider waiting for her turn on the pullup bar today.
2. The trucks doing rail work near my place have quietened down for now, so I can clearly hear our plumber doing cement cutting through my nose cancelling headphones.
3. I dunno. I think I'll give myself an early mark from work this arvo if it keeps being this annoying and loud but it's only 9am.

She deserves a special treat for showing up! :)

Aargh! I remember when they were doing that on my building last year, Damn that is noisy!

On another note, dontcha hate those nose canceling headphones? It's like, "Hey! Where did my nose go?", and it totally ruins that well-known parent game of "Got your nose".

Strongly recommend. You cannot concentrate with that level of sound, even with the headphones. :(

I'll leave some fruit on the bench for an extra day to attract a fruit fly for her ;)

Haha I read my sentence 3 times and didn't notice that I'd cancelled my nose.

It quietened down significantly for awhile but either the truck or the digging yard (across the other side of the rail line, they were digging yesterday) has started up again. I'm just so not with it for doing work today at all, regardless of the noise. My mind is back on figuring out the diagnosis problem and I can't seem to redirect it.

You have my sincere sympathies.

I really cannot tolerate that sort of high decibel construction noise for long. It just jangles all my nerves and my anxiety starts to rise. :(
