  1. It took me 2 hours to make a sandwich for dinner tonight, but most of the time I was motivated to finish making it. It's better than 2 years ago when I barely had the motivation or mental energy to chop a carrot, which is a nice thing to realise.
  2. I won't have any issues with vampires tonight given how much I can still taste the garlic.
  3. My first time trying carne asada and after a few attempts I think I can almost remember how to spell it without accidentally merging it with the spelling of Kanye.

Bonus: Making dinner and listening to a podcast at the same time was almost distracting enough to take my mind off my psychologist. Instead I was mostly thinking about whether my parents would enjoy this if I made it while I'm visiting, and that I'm pleased that I'll get to make the laksa for my dad (I suspect that laksa is his favourite noodle dish based on how frequently he used to order it instead of other noodle options). Also thinking about how I don't know what food my brother eats so if I make a couple of meals while I'm there I don't know if he could have any. I'd have to give him an ingredient list so he could tell me what ingredients I'd need to omit for him to eat it, and then decide if it's workable without those ingredients or if he'll just have to miss out. He normally makes his own food anyway and only has some of what my parents make if it aligns with his diet, but I'd kind of like to make something different that he'd enjoy. We'll see.

Anti-bonus: Time to do the dishes.

  1. I'm trying to respond 'compassionately' :)yuck:) to myself for whatever emotional weirdness I'm dealing with at the moment, even though my thoughts are telling me that I'm a bad person.
  2. I cleaned up a few bits of plastic to slightly reduce the apartment mess.
  3. Trying to think of a fair deal with myself to handle the rest of the night. Like if I get up and just take the garbage out, I can have a shower and go to bed rather than curling up on the floor.

  1. Spent most of today trying to clear some space in my work inbox.
  2. Feeling better at the moment compared to first thing this morning and last night.
  3. Air con at work is an OK temperature. Significantly better than at home yesterday where I didn't even put on a fan because there was a bit of a breeze but it was still pretty hot.

1 - Got my Logitech keyboard and mouse today
2 - Repacked and ready to go back tomorrow. FYI David, Logitech also makes really crappy stuff now too.
3 - Good thing I'm not afraid of calling or I would have lost my 20$ credits I used for that order. She talked to her manager and they issued me the $20 back on my account. I actually think they have lost money with me as a customer over 5 years. They screw up so often and give me some credit and even a free expensive guitar case. I usually do my binge shopping at the same time as i take the free prime trial and that's has to be during some bargain hunting days. This year it expires after boxing day :D

And I'm still alive.

1 - was warm today but cloudy going to Winnipeg
2 - After picking up my meds and showing my pharmacist my new ride I went for a quick wand car wash
3 - Only spent $4.15. A Timmies and 2 bucks for the quick car wash.
4 - Made it home safely
-1 - Car was dirtier when I got back that when I left. Wasted 2 bucks on that wash.

Bonus Sent the keyboard back before heading to the Peg and my 2nd package that was sent to my street address came in today but I didn't get reamed out for it. Probably cause I gave her a heads up yesterday.
Told her the only other 2 still somewhere in transit (probably on Jupiter or Mars) if they ever arrive were sent to my PO BOX.

1. Found an amazing cat toy at the local humane society's thrift store. (a tube to go inside with ribbons and a tail on the ends to play with)

2. Homemade sugar cookies.

3. Husband has been off marijuana all day, for the first time in a long time. (If he keeps avoiding marijuana for a while, it will at least help lower his future tolerance.)

BONUS: Talked for an hour on the phone to the elderly lady we bought our house from over 5 years ago.

BONUS #2: Taco Bell :D

BONUS #3: 12-year-old dog likes one of the cat toys (feather on a stick).

1. Had to present some slides over a web meeting and I think it went pretty good. The meeting's not over yet but I didn't get any super hard questions during my bit.
2. It's 1 week til my therapy session so my psych will have to reply about the location suggestions within the next week. ;)
3. I have tuna for lunch when this meeting ends.

1. I survived my trip to work today, having to ride a different (more dangerous) way thanks to a road closure.
2. My last day of work for the year. Even though I don't want to be here at least it's time limited.
3. I think I've managed my perishable food fairly well in the lead up to my trip. Might just have a bit too much yoghurt to try and get through tomorrow morning.

Might just have a bit too much yoghurt to try and get through tomorrow morning.

I always run out of yogurt and kefir because the dogs and chickens like it too :) The dogs can easily go through a whole container in two days. The chickens in one day, if I let them.

I also like yogurt noodle soup, which I had more as a kid at my grandparent's house. (They did a lot of Mediterranean cooking since they were from that area of the world, which probably helped them live for more than nine decades.)

1. My washing machine has a spin dry setting, so I could attempt to re-dry my clothes to their post-washing state after I'd gone through the effort of hanging them out on the line last night to beat the rain... only to have the rain beat me.
2. There's only about 4 things I really need to take out of the clothes that are wet. I'm trying to use body heat to dry a shirt by wearing it. The others are now hung inside on a rack and I have plastic bags ready to pack them.
3. Finishing my yoghurt and an orange for breakfast. That's the last of the perishable food that I hadn't already been planning on throwing out.

1. Kitten is already litter trained and so now is a "free-range" kitten (unless we are not home).

2 Our favorite McDonald's employee (who is almost always in a chipper mood) just had a 5-year-work anniversary (working part-time while going to college).

3. Still free fries every Friday (with the McDonald's app).

BONUS: Grammarly.

1 - Was up all night Wednesday trying to figure out what was available as tool storage options that would work out in my limited space and settled on these at Home Depot online and finally ordered them after a log period of indecision. Sadly my storage closet is 2 inches too small for the 52" so I got a 46" one to put there and a 52" which can be put anywhere since they both are toolboxes with solid wood top workbenches. Have some shelves I might cut to put under wheels to protect flooring. Curb Side delivery. Caretaker said he would help me out.

2 - Managed to get my laundry done Thursday. had been a while. Then Went to Canadian Tire and Walmart.

3 - Yesterday I Had Fish Fry lunch from the meal program here (take out only) Had 2 big pieces of fish wrapped in my plate, mashed pataters, corn and some bean salad that I gave back. Was last one to go get my plate and asked if I could get a bit more tartar sauce and got offered another piece of fish. Had it all for lunch. Put my dessert in fridge for later.

??? By September I was one track for another record saving year. Since buying the newer car my "over budget expenses" are already more than my whole year's budgeted expenses. I do run a really tight budget though. And I refuse to owe anything to anyone.

BONUS: ^^^ I really don't care. :)
I'm cheap and a real penny pincher and save everywhere I can and well sometimes enough is enough. My car was due and I wanted something reliable. I also want to be able to find a tool when I need it EASILY and digging through plastic bins is too much work. Before moving here downsizing (again) and since, I sold stuff, gave expensive stuff away without regret and some things with joy. My only regret was selling "Big Red" my tool chest combo before moving here since I was sure there was no room for it. That's being corrected and over compensated.

1. Found out the sex of the kitten. Vet tech said it is definitely a male. (So his name is Vester.)

2. Kitten got a free exam and will get one with each vaccine booster.

3. Psychiatrist was very nice (as before) during my second telehealth appointment with him today.

BONUS: Husband is still abstaining from buying/using marijuana so that we can save money. (He will be legally able to grow some next year.)

Wow. That's excellent. Cat vaccinations are not expensive up here - I think around $35 - but what makes it expensive is most or all vets charge for an examination as well. Getting that for free would knock about $70-80 off the fee if I recall correctly.

1. Got through a tiny bit of scanning my old school/uni notes yesterday.

2. Only had a brief anger surge with my mum having reached the poking/tickling stage of the "not having information" process regarding me not telling her what I'm doing on Thursday. Didn't act on it.

3. Almost keeping perspective on my thoughts that I peaked at age 17 and its all been downhill from there so I should've ended my life back then cause I'll never be as good at anything as I used to be then. Maybe it's not 100% true e.g. even though I'm not as good at things as I used to be, I still managed to become an engineer and have a job without being terrified of it every day (which is how I expected to feel about working when I was 17 based on my work experience to date).

1. Got a fillet of wild salmon for only $1 at Dollar Tree. Dogs loved it, served with brown rice from the Instant Pot.

2. Tomorrow, Mcdonald's has free Egg McMuffins with the app (with any $1 purchase).

3: Brother-in-law (who was a farmer) is coming over this week to help us install an electric wire over our fence. (Just for peace of mind in case coyotes ever get any ideas about our dogs.) Sister-in-law will be bringing homemade potato salad.

BONUS: Elderly neighbor bought a toy for the kitten.

BONUS #2: Dogs continue to motivate me to get more exercise (by sprinting with them or taking them for walks).

Those are not trivial accomplishments. A lot of people in this world have not been able to do either of those things.

BONUS: You still live in Australia instead of moving to the Apocalypse known as the United States :D

(A friend of mine is playing with the idea of moving to New Zealand, but she will probably stay in the states because of her son.)

I guess. However one would think I could've done this without going backwards with the other stuff.

True. Although I wish we'd start taking climate change seriously here, rather than head in the sand someone else's problem ing about it.

NZ is nice. They pronounce the wrong vowels though. ;)
