Re: 3 Positive Things Part 6

There’s also the “other” cool option... Don’t drink and you’ll be fine.

Fun facts about alcohol consumption:

The less often you drink alcohol the quicker the buzz hits and the less you need to get drunk. The more and more often you drink the less your adapted brain thinks you’re buzzed and the more your brain thinks you are not intoxicated when you are at a certain point.

Get drunk on lower quality distilled alcohol get bad headache and hangover due to higher levels of leftover methanol which is actually a side effect of plain old methanol poisoning. Stuff like triple distilled vodka way lower trace levels of methanol.

Get drunk on on sweet drinks and theres a very high potential you will have an opportunity to get to recite the “porcelain prayer.”

Get drunk on anything and the the potential for regretting something you did like make a fool of yourself increases with each drink.

Get drunk passed a certain state and the potential for memory loss of what happened Is possible. Which usually means you probably did something that if you did remember it you would have a remorse-over to go with the hangover. And I guarantee at least one person will remember everything in detail what you forgot and also remind you and probably everyone you know.

Go out and have fun, maybe a drink or two, or even none is ok. socialize and watch others make fools of themselves intoxicated Then go home and wake up next morning feeling awesome possum :)

BONUS: Dog #3 (the purebred mini dachshund we got for free years ago) is prone to dislocating her knee but is walking well again after hurting herself a week ago. (Vet said surgery would cost $1,000+ if she didn't get better.)

re: alcohol

I mostly prefer alcohol in food, like wine in black bean soup, though will try sherry vinegar next.

Going to try this soon:

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 6

1. My eyes/face don't show any evidence when I go cry in the bathroom.
2. Not staying long at work today.
3. Definitely drinking tonight then ****ing off to be alone.

1 - Montreal won 4-0 against Minnesota it then again Minnesota only won one game so far this year and that was against Ottawa. But a win is a win.

2 - pulled out my instant pot tonight. Boiled 18 extra large eggs. That’s all I’ve used it for but damn it’s worth the money to make perfect hard boiled eggs. Not one bad peel. Just une that didn’t get in the jar for quality “inspection” purposes.

3 - perfect fit 17 extra large in my jar

BUMMER: Have to wait to test the pickled eggs :(

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 6

1. Really bad IT day at work today (document management system down, lost network etc.) so I restarted and it's installing more updates so I'm not doing any work for now.
2. Reconsidered my therapist's comments - he did take on one piece of feedback so perhaps the session booking thing was an unfortunate oversight, so decided to at least ask before throwing in the towel.
3. Went for a bike ride on the weekend after 4 weeks off. Reckon I need a wider seat.

+1 I'm Still alive
- 1 I'm still alive

+1 -1 means the Game is tied at 1… I guess that technically means I'm going into sudden death overtime

2 - NADA

3 - NIENTE

Haha
1 - We got our own little miss sunshine now ;)

2 - Technically a plus and a minus. The last 3 were excellent since they were the only ones to survive 2 days. The others were ok to good because were not given a chance to live in the jar long enough. The negative is I ate 18 extra large eggs in less than 48 hours. That's a lot of cholesterol for a guy who already has clogged arteries :panic:

3 - can't argue with you on that one because as I write this at 8am Monday morning it almost Tuesday DOWN (pun intended) where you are.

That BONUS: looks can be really deceiving. Yes it's pretty new and included with the rent. It's the same width as the one from my previous suite... except the moron that purchased the lot took all right sided large burners. Now since the suites are mirror imaged one out of two (like me) has it against the bloody wall! Not very convenient or safe for that matter when you have a large pan or pot heating right against a painted drywall wall. When I first moved in last year I had my large cookie sheet ready to go full of chicken breasts... fit in my previous apartment oven... surprise surprise doesn't fit... grab medium sized pan in a hurry fits but not technically as the rack has a little upward slope at the back so that pan was tilted. No go! So not usable only one that fits is the small one. Very small oven that's definitely not a bonus. Looks nice, doesn't cost me anything to have it except cleaning products and frustration to use it. The also included almost new fridge is also in the same situation pretty small and can't fully open door to get the cheap plastic tray out to clean.

4 - Elections today... not going out to vote... and even if I did I wouldn't even have to go out. Just put some clothes on and walk 50 feet or so to the common area. Polling station right in my little 20 suite building.

-4 still waiting for new Windows to be installed and the maintenance manager went and gave them more money. What the .... ? You don't give money to contractors other than a deposit until the work is completed. I think the building gossip choir was right on That one. Probably not happening this year. Although we were told end of September. And they ordered the windows from Germany! They did arrive about a month ago. Contractor has the money why would he be in a hurry to pay workers to do the job?

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 6

Very good question David!

My reasoning is based on pure logic and facts:

1 - The religious right is against abortion (the majority) and are convinced that the right to abortion can be revoked and since the liberals support the right to abortion they don't have a chance in hell here regardless of the candidate. Personal opinion on the subject is irrelevant.

2 - same sex marriage : same reasoning as #1

3 - No liberal has ever come close to losing by a respectable margin here and probably never will.

4 - Manitoba has a Bible belt. The primary heart is centered around Steinbach, Manitoba. (7KM from here) even the Walmart is closed on Sunday. It's has a few extremist "legalistic" hotbeds. I'm right smack n the middle of one of those hotbeds.

5 - I'm an outsider and I will not lie. If asked by just one person who I voted for I would speak the truth: Liberal.

6 - #5 would have me technically shunned in the community and I have a few of those extremists as friendly acquaintances that I have no desire to offend.

7 - I moved here for 2 reasons: Lower rent is one and peace and quiet is the primary reason. I used to love and enjoy stirring the poop but no longer have a need or desire to do so. Especially not here unless it's like last year where my personal private life was invaded when 2 residents wanted the board to evict me for having my ex gf sleep over and also when I stood up in defense of Miss Muffet.

BONUS: When the 2 went to the board they were told my private life was none of anybody's business and that what I did in my residence was private. I drove the nail home by telling one of the 2 involved that if I was a homosexual (precise term used in the conversation to avoid any potential misunderstand of my point.) and my boyfriend slept over there was nothing he or anybody could do or say about it. That was my sweet revengeful payback and drove my point home like a stake to his heart. I'm a gentle soul as long as you don't attack me or someone vulnerable.

Re: 3 Positive Things Part 6

1. My workmates are good for a morning group chat.
2. Got a technically easy, short, investigative task to look at this morning.
3. No IT issues yet.
Bonus: Got up in time to have breakfast at home, although that means I'll get hungry earlier in the day it also means I can have a drink of Milo earlier ;)
